Application Guidelines for JICA Innovative Asia Program 2017 at Graduate School of Environmental Science, Hokkaido University

1. Outline of the program
This program supported by JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) aims to enhance the circulation of competent human resources between Japan and Asian countries and to promote innovation across Asia.
To this end, the program provides opportunities for study and internship in Japan for competent students who graduated or are expected to graduate from ‘partner schools’ in 12 Asian countries. read more

Program Outline

Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) offers scholarship for qualified international students who are accepted by a Japanese university under a student exchange agreement or other student exchange arrangement on a short-term basis for one year between Japanese university and their home higher educational institution outside Japan.

Details of program

The title of program is “The education and research leader upbringing program to environment preservation through Agri-Food Linkage”. The students enroll as undergraduate special auditors or graduate special auditors and carry out research including laboratory work and field work under the guidance of a supervisor at Faculty of Agriculture, Yamagata University. Title of research is determined after discussion with the supervisor. The students also study some subjects such as seminar, intensive scientific English and Japanese language. Credit exchange between two universities is available. Tutors are assigned to each student for the purpose of giving special help outside of the classroom in order to promote his/her studies and research activities. read more

Hokkaido University (HU) can offer scholarships of 70,000 yen for each person for those who is willing to complete PARE Short Program (1 credit of Introduction to PARE I ~ IV + 3 credits of PARE Summer School).

Air ticket will NOT be provided.

Note:

(1) Dormitory can be secured for those who applied through HSI website at lower cost (depending on availabilities, however, it costs normally around 1,000 yen/day + utilities, so if one stays over 2 weeks of summer school, room charge can be estimated around 20,000 yen or so. Transportation cost to campus (normally around 700 yen round trip/day), eating and shopping costs would need to be added. read more

The Chemical Science Course, Graduate School of Engineering, Osaka University now offer International 5-year Ph. D. course students with Monkasho (MEXT) scholarship from October 2017 admission. This is an international educational program, therefore there is no requirement about the Japanese language, instead we request English score such as TOEFL, TOEIC or IELTS. The deadline of the application is December 9th (via postal application). I would cordially request you to encourage excellent students to apply for it. The 2016 Learning Satellite at Graduate School of Environmental Science, HOKKAIDO University, SAPPORO, Japan

Lectures and laboratory works on assessment and remediation of pollution with chemicals in Sapporo, Japan, July 18 – July 27, 2016

We will accept 6 (six) master course students from UGM, 2 (two) of them can stay up to 45 days in Hokkaido, Japan. Hokkaido University will support this programme, 100,000 JPY for Indonesian participants. Two credits of Graduate School of Environmental Science will be given after completion of this programme. read more
