Now Hokkaido Summer Institute 2022 website is open and it’s time for application. PARE Summer School will be enrolled in a scheme of Hokkaido Summer Institute (HSI 2022), same as HSI 2021 held last summer, PARE Summer School was held online though.
Through HSI, applicants will get benefit from easier access to visa application and to booking dormitory. As mentioned below, we are planning to offer scholarship to 4 candidates per each consortium university.

If you are interested in this program, please apply to https://forms.gle/sv1cSvNeZECNnU6y7 and deadline of the application is March 9, 2022 at 15.00 WIB. Magister Program of Chemistry UGM will inform the selected candidates to proceed applying for this program on March 10, 2022.
(*PARE Program will be changed to One Program for Global Goals (OGGs) and renamed as PARE Course under the new program from April 2022)
Participants from consortium universities are required to attend following courses held in Hokkaido:
1) PBL: International Co-trained PBL for Problem Solving ~ July 4 – July 8, 2022 (1 credit)
2) Introduction to SDGs (Compulsory): Awareness of Glocal Issues and International Collaboration ~July 11,12,14,15, 2022 (1 credit)
3) Introduction to SDGs (Elective): Populations-Activities-Resources-Environments Chain in Asian Countries and Japan ~ July 19-22, 2022 (1credit)
4) SDGs Internship/Field study (Compulsory): Summer School in JAPAN I and II (PARE)~ July25 – August 5 (2 credits for 2 subjects)
Finances
Ø Scholarship:
HU is planning to offer JASSO scholarship of 80,000 yen up to 4 candidates per each consortium university
*1 Please check if a student covers all conditions when applying for the scholarship.
*2 Please also note if the style of the school has been changed to online, No Scholarship will be given.
Ø Air ticket will NOT be provided
Ø Dormitory can be secured for those who applied through HSI website at lower cost (depending on availability, however, it costs normally around 1,000 yen/day + utilities, so if one stays over 3 weeks for the program, room charge can be estimated around 30,000 yen or so. Transportation cost to campus (normally around 700 yen round trip/day), food and shopping costs would need to be added. *Kindly note that this estimation is subject to change).

Ø Registration Fee for Summer School 2021 is 40,000JPY.
*Please note if the style of the school has been changed to online, No Fee will be required.
Status
Status of Special Auditor will be given at HU for those who are admitted. 5 credits (please check above) will be officially given after completion of the school. Upon completion, HU official transcripts will be offered and the credits can be transferred.
