Program Objectives

Our primary goal is to nurture individuals who attain the title of Doctor (Dr.) of Chemistry with the following attributes:

  1. Faithful and Reverent Character: Instilled with a profound belief in and fear of God Almighty, possessing a strong commitment to the values of Pancasila, and exhibiting high integrity and personality.
  2. Adaptability and Responsiveness: Open-minded and responsive to dynamic changes and advancements in science, as well as adept at addressing societal challenges, particularly those pertaining to the realm of chemistry.
  3. National and International Excellence: Striving for excellence both nationally and internationally, our graduates are recognized for their exceptional skills and contributions to the field of chemistry.
  4. Application of Knowledge: Equipped with the ability to develop and apply their acquired knowledge for the continuous progress of science and technology.
  5. Research Advancements in Chemistry

Our commitment extends to generating impactful research in the field of chemistry, contributing to the advancement of science, and enhancing the well-being and comfort of humanity.

 

Graduate Profile

Upon completion of our program, our graduates emerge with profiles characterized by:

Academic Excellence: Our educators (lecturers) are not only well-versed in their respective scientific domains but are also proficient teachers, capable of independent research, and skilled at effectively presenting their findings.

Research Prowess: Our researchers exhibit a deep mastery of scientific knowledge, conducting independent research with proficiency, and presenting their results effectively, establishing themselves as experts in their chosen fields.

Environmental Stewardship: Graduates entering the professional sphere as Environmental Consultants possess extensive chemical knowledge and a robust understanding of green chemistry principles, contributing to sustainable practices and environmental responsibility.

 

Program Learning Outcomes

PLO1: Attitudes and Values Our graduates are expected to embody a holistic set of values and attitudes. This includes fostering a respectful and inclusive mindset, upholding religious principles, collaborating effectively, adhering to legal norms, internalizing academic values, demonstrating responsibility in their respective fields, cultivating a spirit of independence and perseverance, promoting environmental sustainability, and fostering empathy for the advancement of chemistry. Additionally, they are anticipated to exhibit a commendable personality, maintain a professional demeanor, and adhere to ethical norms and standards.

PLO2: Fundamental Knowledge Graduates will possess profound and comprehensive knowledge of the structure and properties of matter, along with an understanding of the energy dynamics accompanying its transformations. This encompasses a thorough grasp of thermodynamic and kinetic principles, as well as expertise in the synthesis, analysis, isolation, and purification of chemical compounds.

PLO3: Specialized Expertise Our graduates will demonstrate specialized expertise in one of the following areas:

  • Inorganic and Material Chemistry: Proficient in applying chemical science knowledge and molecular-scale engineering to develop inorganic compounds and materials. They are expected to conduct innovative research, contributing to national and international recognition.
  • Physical Chemistry and Nanocatalysis: Capable of applying and managing research based on Physical Chemistry concepts across various chemistry domains, including advanced material engineering, the discovery of new energy sources, and the engineering of medicinal compounds.
  • Organic Synthesis and Biomolecular Chemistry: Skilled in conducting in-depth research on organic chemistry, particularly in understanding the structure and reactions of organic compounds. Graduates will produce innovative work, interpret spectra for structural elucidation, and apply organic chemistry principles, especially in utilizing natural products in agrochemicals, medicine, food, and energy fields.
  • Analytical and Environmental Chemistry: Proficient in mastering and advancing chemical and physical theories underlying analytical chemistry measurements. Graduates will contribute to national and international recognition through innovative research and publications. They will also possess the skills to address problems in analytical and environmental chemistry, developing interdisciplinary analytical methods for the benefit of the community and other scientific disciplines.

PLO4: Problem-Solving Ability Developing robust scientific insights is crucial to effectively address scientific problems through an interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary approach, ultimately contributing to societal and scientific advancements.

PLO5: Research Capability Graduates are anticipated to possess profound scientific acumen, enabling them to independently and professionally formulate, conduct, and advance chemistry-based research and service themes. Additionally, a comprehensive understanding of sustainability in chemistry is expected, alongside the capability to leverage local resources for the development of chemical research, products, and technology. Proficiency in the principles of chemical instrumentation is also integral to graduate qualifications.

PLO6: Publication Skills Demonstrate the ability to contribute to knowledge by publishing research results in reputable accredited international and national journals, both orally and in writing. Additionally, graduates should be adept at producing intellectual works that receive legal protection (HAKI).

PLO7: Professional Attitude Possess excellent interpersonal skills, fostering effective teamwork, a strong sense of responsibility for individual tasks, and the capability to contribute to achieving collaborative results.

PLO8: Communication Skills Effectively communicate with stakeholders of diverse backgrounds in both written and oral communication, in both Indonesian and English.

PLO9: Lifelong Learner Demonstrate the willingness, awareness, and ability to stay abreast of the latest research themes in chemistry, reflecting a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
